With about 26 hours left in 2023, I decided to perform “Years Go By” live to backing tracks in my studio and turn it into a New Year’s Eve video. This is a challenging song for me to sing because of the high notes, and everything is a challenge for me to play because I’m not even a decent live performer…but I think this came out OK. The backing tracks cover up a lot, thankfully. Of course, not being used to performing live to backing tracks, I kind of mistimed a chord change at the end because I was thrown off by everything else stopping. But that kind of stuff is why I don’t play live shows. The studio version is on my album, Looking for the Light, released in March 2023.

UPDATE (1.1.2024)
Within 24 hours of release, my New Year’s Eve video featuring my live-in-studio performance of “Years Go By” has racked up over 200 views on YouTube to become my most-viewed video on the platform. That made me think some may want the track on its own, so I’ve made it available as a Bandcamp exclusive.
